RAK13011 Window and Door Alarm
Figure 1: Door/Window alarm enclosure | Figure 1: Assembly |
|---|
Reed relays are widely used for contactless switching. A normally open reed relay closes its contacts when a magnet is brought near it. This principle is used here to create a door or window open and close detector. This is useful for home alarm systems and for industrial environments where automated doors must be monitored for status, operation, or cycle counting.
The RAK13011 Magnetic Switch Module includes the WisBlock module, an external reed relay, and a magnet. Because of its extended length, the module occupies two sensor slots. It is recommended to install it in Slot C of the RAK19003 Base Board or Slot D of the RAK19007 Base Board, since these slots are designed to accommodate larger sensor modules without blocking additional slots.
