RAK10708 WisMesh Pod Firmware Upgrade

The WisMesh Pod comes with Meshtastic firmware pre-installed. No firmware upgrade is required for initial use. To use the latest Meshtastic firmware, download the firmware and follow the steps below.

Prerequisites

Hardware

• WisMesh Pod
• Computer with a USB port
• USB Type-C data cable

Firmware

Download the firmware from Meshtastic Downloads and extract the downloaded package.

Use the WisMesh Pod firmware file:

firmware-rak_wismesh_pod-w.x.yy.zzzzzzz.uf2

warning

Select the firmware specifically built for the WisMesh Pod. Do not use the RAK4631 firmware file.

Upgrading the Firmware

Step 1: Download the Firmware

Locate the WisMesh Pod .uf2 file in the extracted firmware package.

Step 2: Enter DFU Mode

1. Power on the WisMesh Pod.
2. Connect it to the computer using a USB Type-C data cable.
3. Double-press the side button to enter DFU mode.

The green LED displays a breathing pattern in DFU mode. A USB drive should appear on the computer.

Step 3: Install the Firmware

1. After entering DFU mode, the USB drive opens automatically on the computer.
2. Copy firmware-rak_wismesh_pod-w.x.yy.zzzzzzz.uf2 to the USB drive, using the actual downloaded filename.
3. Wait for the file transfer to complete. The WisMesh Pod automatically restarts and runs the new firmware.

NOTE

The USB drive may disappear when the firmware transfer is complete and the device restarts. This is normal.

Step 4: Verify the Upgrade

Check the firmware version in the device information on the Meshtastic app that is already connected to the WisMesh Pod.
