RAK10708 WisMesh Pod Quick Start Guide

Prerequisite

Hardware

• WisMesh Pod
• USB Cable

Software

To connect the device to the Meshtastic network, you will need to configure it using one of the applications listed below, which are required for the configuration.

• Android App
• Apple App
• Web Client
• Python CLI

Step 1: Charging the Battery

Connect the WisMesh Pod to a 5 V USB power source using the USB Type-C cable. Fully charge the battery before first use.

Step 2: Powering On the WisMesh Pod

Press and hold the side button for 5 seconds to power on the WisMesh Pod. The green LED stays solid when the device is powered on.

To power off the device, press and hold the side button for 5 seconds.

NOTE

Power off the WisMesh Pod when not in use to conserve battery power.

Step 3: Connecting to the Meshtastic App

This guide uses the Meshtastic mobile app for device connection and basic configuration. For other configuration methods and advanced settings, refer to the guide below.

Meshtastic Basic Device Setup

1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.

2. Open the Meshtastic app and scan for available devices.

3. Select the WisMesh Pod and connect to it. Enter the PIN 123456 if prompted.

4. Configure the appropriate LoRa region and adjust other settings as needed in the Meshtastic app. For details, refer to Meshtastic Configuration.

NOTE

The LoRa region must be configured before the WisMesh Pod can communicate over the mesh network.

Step 4: Using the WisMesh Pod

Disconnect the USB Type-C cable to use the WisMesh Pod on battery power. Once configured, the device supports mesh communication and GNSS-based location features.

• Mesh Communication: Send and receive messages with other nodes on the same Meshtastic network.
