WisDM Metrics Dashboards
Overview
WisDM Metrics Dashboards provide centralized monitoring views for gateway operations and network performance. Dashboards can be organized by project, with visualization widgets added to analyze gateway metrics across selected locations and devices.
Metrics Dashboards help you monitor gateway fleets without checking each gateway individually or relying on external tools for basic metric visualization. They can be used to review operational status, identify abnormal gateways or trends, and build reusable monitoring views for different sites, customers, and troubleshooting scenarios.
What Metrics Dashboards Help You Do
With Metrics Dashboards, you can:
- Monitor gateway status, system resources, network connectivity, LoRaWAN® packet statistics, GPS, and storage health.
- Compare metric values and trends over a selected time range.
- Identify gateways with abnormal status, resource usage, or network behavior.
- Create reusable dashboards for specific locations, projects, customers, or operational scenarios.
- Review gateway fleet performance directly in WisDM.
For detailed metric definitions, units, value meanings, and recommended operations, see Metrics Reference.
How Metrics Dashboards Are Organized
Metrics Dashboards use four main concepts: Project, Dashboard, Widget, and Metric.
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Project | A workspace used to group related dashboards for a site, customer, location, or monitoring scenario. |
| Dashboard | A monitoring view within a project that organizes widgets for a specific purpose. |
| Widget | A visual component that displays metric results as a single value, chart, or table. |
| Metric | A data point displayed in a widget, such as CPU utilization, gateway status, network traffic, or packet count. |
A project contains one or more dashboards, each dashboard contains one or more widgets, and each widget displays one or more metrics.
